What is LSD?
LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide), first synthesized in 1938, is an extremely potent hallucinogen. Hallucinations are when you see, hear, feel, taste, or smell something that seems real but is not. It is commonly called Acid.

LSD is synthetically made from lysergic acid, which is found in ergot, a fungus that grows on rye and other grains. It is so potent its doses tend to be in the microgram (mcg) range. It’s effects, often called a “trip”, can be stimulating, pleasurable, and mind-altering. It some cases it can lead to an unpleasant, sometimes terrifying experience called a “bad trip”. LSD for sale

Lysergide (LSD) is a semi-synthetic hallucinogen, and is one of the most potent drugs known. Recreational use became popular between the 1960s to 1980s, but is now less common. It is generally believed that most LSD is produced outside Europe, but secondary preparation of dosage units by dipping or spotting paper squares is more widespread. These dosage units usually bear coloured designs featuring cartoon characters, geometric and abstract motifs. LSD is related to other substituted tryptamines, and is under international control.

LSD was first synthesised by Albert Hoffman while working for Sandoz Laboratories in Basel in 1938. Some years later, during a re-evaluation of the compound, he accidentally ingested a small amount and described the first ‘trip’. During the 1950s and 1960s, Sandoz evaluated the drug for therapeutic purposes and marketed it under the name Delysid®. It was used for research into the chemical origins of mental illness. Recreational use started in the 1960s and is associated with the ‘psychedelic period’. LSD for sale

Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) was studied from the 1950s to the 1970s to evaluate behavioral and personality changes, as well as remission of psychiatric symptoms in various disorders. LSD was used in the treatment of anxiety, depression, psychosomatic diseases and addiction. However, most of the studies were not performed under contemporary standards, and it has taken several decades for a resurgence of interest in LSD research and its therapeutic potential for psychiatry. The aim of this review is to identify controlled and randomized clinical trials that assess the potential use of LSD in psychiatry. PRISMA guidelines for systematic review were followed. A literature search of PubMed and Psychedelic bibliography from Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) databases was performed as well as a manual search of references from evaluated studies. Only randomized-controlled clinical trials were included. Study quality was systematically calculated by using the Cochrane Collaboration Tool for assessing risk of bias. A final selection of 11 articles was made after considering inclusion and exclusion criteria. LSD was administered to 567 patients in a dose ranging from 20 to 800 mcg. Despite the design heterogeneity of clinical trials, positive results were observed, thus revealing the therapeutic potential of LSD to reduce psychiatric symptomatology, mainly in alcoholism. The vast majority of authors describe significant and positive short-term changes in patients, despite the fact that in some studies an important homogenization was observed between the LSD treatment group and control group at long-term follow-up. Multiple variables regarding LSD treatment therapeutic approach and quality of experience were revealed and related to therapeutic outcomes. LSD is revealed as a potential therapeutic agent in psychiatry; the evidence to date is strongest for the use of LSD in the treatment of alcoholism. Despite the difficulty of designing proper double blind clinical trials with this substance, new studies that conform to modern standards are necessary in order to strengthen our knowledge on its use and open new doors in the future. LSD is one of the most potent, mood-changing chemicals. It is manufactured from lysergic acid, which is found in the ergot fungus that grows on rye and other grains. LSD for sale

It is produced in crystal form in illegal laboratories, mainly in the United States. These crystals are converted to a liquid for distribution. It is odorless, colorless, and has a slightly bitter taste.

Known as “acid” and by many other names, LSD for sale

Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is a classical hallucinogen. No approved indications for LSD-assisted therapy exist today. It has been used in the past for non-FDA approved indications: depressive disorders including those with conversion phobia, neurosis, manic-depression, and reactive depression, cyclothymic (obsessional) and passive-aggressive (obsessional) compulsive sexual deviation addiction, psychoneurotic disorders, mixed, pan-neuroticism (including schizophrenia), borderline or latent and personality disorders (especially transient situational). This activity will highlight the mechanism of action, adverse event profile/toxicity, pharmacology, monitoring, and relevant interactions of LSD, pertinent for members of the interprofessional team should they encounter patients who misuse or have misused this drug. Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is a classical hallucinogen originally synthesized by Albert Hoffman. He accidentally concocted the drug while making experimental substances from ergots to create circulatory and respiratory stimulants. The most pronounced effect on the animals allowed him to create a model for psychosis and study the induced temporary psychotic-like states. During the psychotic state, he also noted permitted recall and produced improved insight

Research has also begun to look at LSD as a possible treatment for Alzheimer dementia and as a last resort for migraines or cluster headaches. This role is partly because patients have self-medicated using LSD off-label as an ablative therapy for treatment-resistant migraines and cluster headaches. Patients obtained the illicit psychoactive substances as a last resort. When patients use LSD as a treatment or a recreational drug, there are few if any reports of psychoactive effects. The effects were reportedly tolerable or avoided using minimal doses.

LSD-assisted therapy has been shown to enhance suggestibility without hypnotic induction. It has shown the most improvement in suggestibility in neurotic and schizophrenic patients but the least in depression. Neural plasticity in the cortex and cognitive flexibility are possibly necessary for demonstrable improvement in suggestibility.

LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide)

LSD is short for d-lysergic acid diethylamide. LSD itself is not found naturally, but is considered semi-synthetic, as it was first prepared by Albert Hofmann by altering a molecule found in the ergot fungus. Hofmann discovered its unexpected properties when testing it on himself in 1943.  LSD for sale

Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) is synthetically derived from the fungus, Claviceps purpuria. Several isomers of this compound exist, although only the d-isomer is considered active. LSD was first synthesized by Albert Hofmann in 1938 in a search for an analeptic drug. After finding its psychogenic activity, it was marketed by Sandoz laboratories under the name Delysid®. It was also reportedly used by the Central Intelligence Agency as a tool for interrogation. Due to its potential for ‘bad trips,’ ‘flashbacks,’ and potential risk for brain injury, LSD was banned federally in 1966 and is currently only used illicitly. LSD is chemically similar to other naturally occurring lysergamides found in multiple species of morning glory.

LSD (d-lysergic acid diethylamide), a psychedelic drug also known by the street names acid, battery acid, dots, microdots, blotter, window pane, or mellow yellow, is a synthetic hallucinogenic drug made from lysergic acid—a fungus found on rye and other grains. LSD or acid is taken for its psychotropic effects that occur during a ‘trip’.

LSD, also called lysergide, can be derived from the ergot alkaloids, constituents of the ergot (mushroom) fungus. Ergot alkaloids can produce really psychedelic effects in people who use LSD. This fungus often grows on wheat. LSD can also be found in plant parts such as Morning Glory seeds.

Some drug users use LSD and other substances for their hallucinogenic or psychedelic properties. There is a tradition of this in many cultures that goes back for centuries. Mostly hallucinogens have been used for religious ceremonies and spiritual purposes. LSD for sale

Other hallucinogens can be found in plants or mushrooms or their extracts. Consuming these also alters perception and produces hallucinations.
